There are some nights that leave you feeling inspired, empowered, and just plain grateful. The D Magazine’s Celebrating Women of Influence Event was absolutely one of those nights for me. Being invited as a speaker at this incredible gathering was a true honor, and standing alongside such fearless, trailblazing women was nothing short of magical.
A SWEET EXPERIENCE LIKE NO OTHER
Of course, no event is complete without a little sweetness! To add a unique and playful touch to the night, "the Make Your Life Sweeter" team curated a gourmet salt water taffy and gourmet halal gummy bar! This was a fun and interactive dessert experience for the amazing guests in attendance.
Imagine a vibrant display of colorful gummies and deliciously chewy salt water taffy, each piece more tempting than the next. From classic fruit flavors to unexpected gourmet twists, we made sure there was something for everyone. Guests had a blast hand-selecting their favorite treats and creating their own personalized mini to-go boxes to enjoy later (because let’s be real, who doesn’t love a sweet surprise waiting for them?).
Watching everyone delight in their choices, chatting over candy selections, and reliving childhood nostalgia with every bite made the entire experience even sweeter.
AN EVENING OF INSPIRATION
This event was about celebrating the unstoppable spirit of women who are shaping industries, communities, and the future. It was a room filled with powerful stories, insightful conversations, and a collective determination to break barriers. Sharing my journey as a founder and CEO, alongside other phenomenal women, reminded me why I do what I do. The energy in the room was electric! Every woman there had a story to tell, wisdom to share, and a passion that was contagious.
ABOUT THE SPEAKERS
ABIGAIL ERICKSON-TORRES
President and CEO of the Frontiers of Flight Museum, a Smithsonian affiliate at Dallas Love Field Airport, is passionate about preserving the legacy of aviation and space exploration. With a lifelong connection to aviation, she finds joy in collaborating with the Board, team, and volunteers to inspire future pioneers and use the power of aerospace to benefit society.
ALETA STAMPLEY
Managing Director of Philanthropy at Tolleson Wealth Management, she is a dynamic marketing leader with extensive experience in sharing the organization’s story, values communication, and overseeing community impact funds to align with business objectives and enhance public perception. Passionate about shifting narratives, she develops programs that strategically distribute funds, host educational events, and engage both employees and the community in shaping the organization’s philanthropic efforts.
RASHEL ROGERS
Apart of the Association for Talent Development and known for her passionate visionary and expanding perspectives, Rashel Rogers, has successfully developed leadership transformation programs for executives at over 40 companies, achieving a 95% pilot purchase rate, and has coached approximately 140 leaders through complex challenges using reflective inquiry techniques. Additionally, she has optimized business operations by designing a virtual delivery model that ensured continuity for 75+ consultants during the pandemic and established an external facilitator network to enhance speed to market and client satisfaction.
YASMEEN TADIA
Founder & CEO of Make Your Life Sweeter®, created gourmet treats like Fluffpop® Mini Cotton Candy, Hotpoppin® Gourmet Popcorn, and Sugaire™ Organic Cotton Candy, inspired by her desire to offer a healthier, fun alternative for her son. With a US patent for Mini Cotton Candy Pops and a passion rooted in her South African childhood, she has transformed traditional sweets into innovative, organic, halal, vegan, and gluten-free indulgences enjoyed at high-profile events globally.
THE POWER OF WOMEN SUPPORTING WOMEN
Beyond the delicious treats and heartfelt conversations, the night was a testament to the power of women lifting each other up. Being in a room full of strong, intelligent, and innovative leaders was a reminder that when women support each other, there are no limits to what we can achieve.
I left the event feeling more inspired than ever! I am grateful for the opportunity to speak, humbled to be surrounded by such remarkable women, and excited for what’s to come. Here’s to many more nights of celebrating, empowering, and, of course, enjoying all the sweet moments along the way!
